Samia Ansari

Samia holds a B.S. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from the University of Georgia and has substantial laboratory experience in the areas of chemistry and biochemistry. After working at a contract research organization for a few years, she developed a strong interest in drug product development, regulatory affairs, and corporate strategy. Since returning to UGA, she’s performed some technical writing for the Bioexpression and Fermentation Facility and is currently a fellow at Kerafast, Inc., a company that recently partnered with the UGA Research Foundation to accelerate the transfer of research materials within the scientific community.

Ian Durie

BS in Microbiology and Biology, University of Georgia. 2015. Interested in regulatory affairs in the pharmaceutical industry, and plans on using the knowledge and skills gained from the MBB program to pursue intellectual property law. MBB anticipated 2017.

Sophia Hong

Bachelor of Biotechnology, Anhui Medical University, 2011. Experience with biochemistry and molecular biology research experience. Interesting in pharmaceutical biotechnology development and microbiology fermentation combined with product management. Accepted in MBB program in 2015.

Sooyoung Kim

Sooyoung earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Iowa State University, and worked at CJ Bio America-Lysin fermentation facility, Fort Dodge, before coming to UGA. He is currently assisting at the UGA Bioexpression and Fermentation Facility and is also planning to earn an additional degree in biostatistical data analysis.

Doug Macgill

Alfonso Garcia Pintos Rovira

Alfonso is a Fulbright Scholar from Uruguay and holds BS in Biochemistry from the University of the Republic, Uruguay. He has experience in the production of bio-fertilizers and bio-pesticides and is interested in large scale biofuels production.

Vignesh Karthick Shanmuga Sundaram

Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology, Anna University. 2010 . Experience in Quality assurance at Life cell international. Interested in Research and Development of Micro Powered Products and commercializing them. MBB anticipated 2017.

Xiunan Yi

Bachelor of Science-Biology Science, Shandong University. Interested in Microbial Technology for industrial applications, especially Microbial Cell Factories. Experience in several researches involving microbial technology. Looking forward to combining the scientific research and requirements of the industrial market. MBB anticipated 2015.
